How it works in class

  1. 1

    1. Share one link

Create your class on koma.ink and share the join link through Google Classroom, a message, or the whiteboard. Students sign in with an email link, no passwords.

  2. 2

    2. Students write an idea

Each student describes their story in their own words, in any language, and reviews the script the AI proposes before anything is drawn.

  3. 3

    3. The AI draws the comic

The AI draws every panel, places the speech bubbles and writes the text in the student’s language. A finished comic is ready to present or share in minutes.

What students can and can’t make

Works well: original characters, adventures, funny and spooky stories, school topics, your own superhero.

Won’t work: famous characters or real people by name (Spider-Man, Pikachu, celebrities). Describe your own version instead. Also no sexual content, graphic gore or real-world harm.

Scary scene near a kid? Keep the monster at a distance, or make it silly.

Why comics work in the classroom

Turning a topic into a comic forces students to summarize, put events in order and decide what each character would say. It is a different way to check that the class understood the unit, and usually more motivating than a written summary.

Classroom ideas by subject

Each idea opens the comic wizard with the prompt filled in. Swap it for your unit topic, or let students write their own.

FAQ

Is it safe for minors? How do students sign in?

Students sign in only with a link sent to their email, with no passwords. They join your class through the link you share, and you can remove any student at any time. We do not send names or emails to our analytics tools and we do not record sessions of signed-in users.

What languages can students write in?

Any language. The AI writes the script and dialogue in the same language as the idea, so it works for language classes too.

What are good alternatives to Pixton or Storyboard That for the classroom?

Pixton and Storyboard That are build-it-yourself tools: students pick characters, scenes and poses panel by panel. koma.ink is different because students start from an idea and the AI writes the script and draws the panels, which suits quick assignments and students who do not want to draw. See the comparison page for when each fits.

How much does it cost?

The Classroom plan is $35 per month with 1,200 credits shared by the whole class. You set a monthly cap per student to spread the pool. A Best-quality panel costs 6 credits.

Can I try it before subscribing?

Yes. Create an account and make a test comic with the 30 free welcome credits (about one short comic), no card needed.

Can students share their comics?

Yes, with a public link. You can also share a comic to Google Classroom in one click from its page.
